Illuminate Your Holidays: A Must-See Crystal Bridges Light Exhibition
If you’re seeking a magical holiday experience in Northwest Arkansas, look no further than Time Loop, a spectacular forest light exhibition at Crystal Bridges Museum of Art in Bentonville, AR. Created by Klip Collective, this immersive art installation transforms the woods into a mesmerizing world of light and sound. Running from September through the first week of January, this unique event is not to be missed! Check the Crystal Bridges website for specific dates and ticket availability.
A word of caution… This forest light display contains some flashing and strobe light effects, so please keep this in mind, before visiting, if you are sensitive to any of this.

Family-Friendly, But Be Courteous
Time Loop is perfect for families, offering an innovative take on modern art for all ages. However, it’s essential to monitor children closely to ensure everyone can enjoy the installations. We noticed some kids wrestling near exhibits, which disrupted the experience for others. Please encourage respect and mindfulness while exploring this extraordinary art exhibit.
Getting There and Tickets
The exhibition begins on the North Trail, conveniently located between Crystal Bridges Museum of Art and the Scott Family Amazeum. Parking is available at the Amazeum, with the trailhead a short walk away. Tickets are date-specific and require an arrival time. While weekends can get crowded, midweek visits are less busy; our Thursday visit allowed us early entry before our scheduled time.
Accessibility is a priority here: the trail is wheelchair-friendly, and wheelchairs are available for reservation when booking tickets online.
Key Installations to Experience
Endless Overture
Take your time with this installation to fully absorb the synchronized interplay of music and lights. Pausing for 5–8 minutes at each station allows you to appreciate the intricate timing and design.
Life Cycle
This section features three artworks—Seed, Fruit, and Fungus—each inviting you to linger and reflect on the natural world’s beauty.
Repeater
“Light stalks” are planted in a perfect circle, creating a hypnotic rhythm of light and sound. This installation offers a meditative experience that explores themes of time and infinity.
The Half-Way Point
Midway through the trail, you’ll find a rest area with cozy firepits, seating, restrooms, and a food truck. Treat your family to hot cocoa or s’mores kits for a delightful pause before continuing your journey.
Broken Time Machine
Step into this interactive piece, where you’ll see yourself and your family as part of the exhibit. The delayed projection creates a fun and surreal experience that was Morgan’s personal favorite!
Infinite Wave
Best viewed head-on, this section reveals entirely new perspectives as you move side to side. Standing directly in front offers the most striking visual impact. This piece was my personal favorite.
Hereafter
This final installation brings together elements from earlier sections, creating a stunning conclusion. Lights dance across rocks as if by magic, synchronized perfectly with the music. Daniel loved how the effects seemed to defy explanation!
