Beaver Tails – 22 Food Trucks in 2022: Sweet Treats

Beaver Tails Food Truck Fayetteville

For those of you who enjoy a sweet treat rather than a savory one at a food truck, Beaver Tails, our #14 in the 22 in 2022 Challenge is for you. They do offer a few savory options as well but specialize in the sweet treat category.

Beaver Tails Food Truck Fayetteville mainly travels around Arkansas but is also in the Missouri area as well.  Beaver Tails has been serving up hot and fresh Canadian pastries since 1978.

The pastries are made from whole-wheat and resemble a beaver tail.  They are then loaded with toppings of your choice. The taste is similar to a donut but is very large in size, so it is easy to share.  Beaver Tails menu consists of a couple of savory specialties and multiple sweet options.

Prices range from $6.50 for the classic beaver tails to $9.75 for the Poutail.

The savory options include their specialty Poutine. Made with crispy, golden fries, cheese curds, and topped with gravy this is sure to delight.  Another savory option includes their Beaverdog.  They use their signature beaver tail dough to wrap around a juicy hotdog and cook to perfection. They even serve a Poutail.

Poutine seems to be a popular savory selection. You can order dinner and dessert for an entire meal at one truck.

Sweet options include the Brwownie (chocolate hazelnut spread, brownie, and white chocolate chunks), Killaloe Sunrise (cinnamon, sugar, and lemon), and the Avalanche (heath bar and cheesecake). There are many other options available.  These are the ones we tried on our trip.

Final Thoughts

We recommend eating them onsite and not getting them to go.  We had to bring some home and they did get chewy after a 20 min. drive home.  They are best eaten hot and fresh from the truck. If you prefer something not overly sweet, then you will want to stick with the Classic or the Killaloe Sunrise.  If you want to be on a sugar overload, then try the Avalanche. We enjoyed each one we tried.

Enjoying Beaver Tails

If you follow them on Facebook, then you can easily find them around.  Like most food trucks, Beaver Tails moves around, and can often be found during special events.  The day we found them they were at Blue Rose & Company in Alma, AR.  We are sure you will enjoy the unique Canadian pastries on your next trip out to the Beaver Tails Food Truck.

Due to them working at pop up locations, Beaver Tails often has long lines.  One thing that is impressive is that they do set up outdoor seating for waiting, and tables with shade for you to enjoy your food onsite.
