There’s Something Odd at Ripley’s

Ripley’s is known for their oddities and has two unique locations in Branson, MO.  The Odditorium houses an interactive museum filled with hundreds of strange artifacts from around the world.  The second, and newest location, is the Super Fun Park.  It has four separate attractions and a small arcade inside.  With both locations there is something for everyone to enjoy!

Ripley’s Odditorium is located at 3326 76 Country Blvd, Branson, MO.  It has over 500 strange and rare artifacts in an interactive museum.  Admission is $24.99/ adult and $14.99 for kids ages 4-11 if you purchase in advance.

The Artifacts

The artifacts have been collected from all around the world, and include items such as shrunken heads, burial coffins, the word’s largest ball of string, and the world’s largest roll of toilet paper.  (Where was this in 2020?) The artifacts certainly make for an educational experience in a unique way.

Unusual Art

The Odditorium also has many unusual works of art in the museum.  Many of the art pieces are made from recycled materials.  Gorillas made from old tires, a giant robot made from recycled metal, a minion made from recycled parts, and a life-sized motorcycle carved from wood are a few examples of what you can find inside.

Ripley's bathroom artwork

One of the most unusual places in the museum to find art is the bathrooms.  The women’s bathroom has a butterfly theme while the men’s room is themed with smoking pipes. We recommend checking out the bathrooms even if its just to see the artwork.

Ripley’s Oddities

Ripley’s Believe it or Not is known for its oddities.  Here at the Odditorium you can measure up the World’s Tallest Man.  Have your picture taken with the World’s Most Unusual Man and Woman, while learning about the Ringling Brother’s Barnum and Bailey Circus.  See the Cuban Eye Popper, the Human Unicorn, and many more unique people from history. They are all represented here at the museum.

One of the unique things here that our kids like is the odd candy and snacks.  You can buy dog drool and bug barf to drink or try out a scorpion sucker.  They even have a bug bistro vending machine! My nephew recommends the BBQ Larvets.

Ripley’s Interactive Museum

Let’s not forget the interactive part of the museum.  There are tons of hands-on exhibits in this museum which makes it perfect for families with kids.  One of the first things you will see when you enter is the talking portrait wall.  It is certainly different to hear their stories and have them speak to you and to each other as you pass through.  The kids enjoy dancing in the Bodies in Motion room and creating pictures on the Color Brite wall.

The Color Brite wall is like a giant Lite Brite toy and kids can create pictures and words by moving the glowing rod like pieces around.  On the opposite side of the room is a movie about the old Ripley’s Believe it Or Not show and a bench to sit on.  Parents can enjoy the show while the kids enjoy playing on the wall. It makes for a nice break from walking around the museum.

Ripley’s Military Marvels

Outside the museum Ripley’s has a salute to the military called Ripley’s Military Marvels. This outdoor museum is free to walk through and features different retired vehicles used in different branches of the military. It is a neat exhibit for veterans and civilians to see. Branson, MO prides itself on supporting our veterans and this is Ripley’s contribution to that. It gives you a new appreciation for the military and opens a new perspective on the vehicles they use to do their jobs and keep us safe.
