5 Things For Kids Stuck Inside
Can’t travel due to weather, COVID-19, or other factors? Kids bored of the electronics already? Why not try some of our fun, family, low cost activities to help bust the boredom and reconnect? Here are 5 things kids can do inside when bored.
1. Lego
Who doesn’t love Legos? Whether you choose to follow directions or create your own, what you build is up to you. In our house it’s a family favorite. Daniel and Morgan both got Lego sets for Christmas this year. Check out these cool Lego builds on YouTube.
2. Board Games
In our house we have a closet full of board games. We can play game after game of “>Haunted Mansion Call of the Spirits game. It has fast become a new family favorite. We especially love playing board games on snow days and on New Year’s Eve.
3. Boxes
Yes, I said boxes. Who doesn’t have a million sitting around from all the home deliveries and online shopping we do now? Morgan loves playing with boxes. She has made cars, forts, and once she even made an eye examining machine to play doctor. Empty boxes can be great creative fun for littles.
4. Craft making can be things for kids to do inside when bored
Crafts can be made from anything. Paper plates, scraps of fabric, copy paper, spare cardboard. I mean… What else are you going to do with all those empty toilet paper rolls you have been hoarding? One of Morgan’s favorite crafts is Slime. You can watch her very own slime review .Â
5. Kinetic Sand
There is something about Kinetic Sand that is relaxing to us. Maybe it’s the way it sticks together and slowly falls apart in your fingers. Maybe it’s the mushy, but not gritty feel of it. Whatever it is, it is fun to play with. If you keep it in a plastic storage box it is easy to clean up too. One of our favorite sets, comes with a storage box, sand, and tools. We use it indoors as well as out on the patio.
Things for kids to do inside when bored: Final Thoughts
Being stuck inside doesn’t have to be boring. In fact, you might just find something fun that you had forgotten you had stuck away in a closet or a toy box somewhere. It’s time to put down those electronics and reconnect with your family even when travel may seem out of the picture for now. Remember, Life’s Short…. Take the Trip! (even if it’s in your own living room)
