3 Marker Challenge
Looking for a low cost, low prep, and easy activity to do with the kids? Look no further. Try the 3 Marker Challenge. It’s as easy as saying Ready… Set… Go!
One of Morgan’s favorite YouTube channels does the 3 Marker Challenge, so we decided to try it out for ourselves.
Check out Trinity and Madison as they try the 3 Marker Challenge.
Get Ready
First things first, gather supplies.
For this activity all you will need is a container with several different markers, a blindfold, and blank paper or coloring sheets.
Don’t have a blindfold? No problem. Just have the players close their eyes, but remember, no peeking!
Set
Each player now takes a turn choosing 3 marker while blindfolded.
The players are then given a theme to draw (if using plain paper) or identical coloring sheets to complete. Themes can be anything. For our family’s round one topic the kids drew a picture of a dog. Round two was draw a playground.
Some of our favorite printable coloring sheets can be found here:
Go!
The Rules:
1. Players must use all three colors chosen
2. Players must only use the three markers chosen
3. When a set time is up ALL players are done
4. Use a non-player to judge and the judge’s decision is final.
The winner can receive a small prize or bragging rights. Have fun with it!
Final Thoughts
Family fun doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. Doing a simple 3 Marker Challenge can lead to an hour of artistic creativity like it did with our kids. It’s as easy as ready, set, go with only using blank paper and markers in a cup.
